FREE Digital Online Music Records is a community label focused on selecting, producing and spread free music on the Internet in an entirely legal way.
Why?
Because music or any other art forms should not be subject to commercial, budget, economic or financial constraints.
For years we suffer the standardization of musical culture. Most of the artistic works signed, distributed and spread on current medias are more and more designed to answer fashion, formatting criteria but among all for profitability, that leads, I think, to a progressive devaluation of our culture. Unfortunately, the current disc industry crisis reinforce this situation. Since the apparition of law texts like “Hadopi”, endless Copyright extensions, the more and more systematic digitization of artistic work does not guarantee, in a more or less long term, a full and free access to mankind cultural heritage, but instead make perpetual financial interests of musical industry where there's obviously no place left for the artists...
Victor Hugo, himself said: “The book as a book, belongs to the author, but as thought, it belongs – the word is not wide enough, to all mankind. All intelligences are entitled to it. If one of both rights, the writer one or the human spirit right, have to be sacrificed, it would be, of course, the writer right, because public interest is our main concern, and all, I declare must go over us. (Le livre comme livre, appartient à l'auteur, mais comme pensée, il appartient – le mot n'est pas trop vaste – au genre humain. Toutes les intelligences y ont droit. This quote make us understand that “Artistic works on its material support belongs to the author, today we would say the editor or producer, but the artistic work away from its material support, in thoughts, belongs to Mankind” (Mathieu Pasquini, “La Bataille Hadopi”). Nobody can tell, today, if the material support (CD, DVD, book...) will completely disapear in coming years, but thank to the fantastic Internet development these past fifteen years, it is no longer required. That leave us with an alternative....
How?
Free Digital Online Music Records offers to produce and spread artists creations under Creative Commons license using its website and other legal distribution platforms. The artist stay the owner of the rights and is free to choose his licensing conditions:

Authorize, or not, the free share, exchange, download of his creations

Define commercial usage conditions

Authorize, or not, his creation modifications (remix, samples,...)

Operate and sell his creations on physical supports independently

Of course suspend at any time his license and associated conditions if he is lead to sign with a company

Free Digital Online Music Records Philosophy
The community have a future and make sense only if many people (artists, listeners and contributors) over the world support and join our project. The purpose here is not to compete with the existing musical industry but to propose artistic works created without financial objectives in mind, to let the artist freely express themselves, to spread them, and offer to our descendants access to a freely expressed musical culture.
We also would like to allow, and that's the most important, an artist to simply exist, to add his own stone to the musical building of Mankind, to let him be heard, to let him be known we hope all over the world, rather than imagine a creator give up part or all of his rights to private companies in compensation of an hypothetic commercial exploitation and then, perhaps, never be able to appreciate them.
Another musical world is possible....
